Message from Interim Superintendent Re: Clowning

In an effort to ensure the safety of our children on their way to and from school, I would like to send this letter as a reminder. All school age children should know their addresses, phone numbers, and parents’/guardians’ names so that they can provide the information to a person who can offer help. Establish safe houses in your neighborhood for your child to go to if needed.

Following are some safety precautions to share and role-play with your children:

  1. Always walk or bike to school with one or more friends;

  2. Always keep parents/guardians informed of where you are;

  3. When approached by a stranger who wants you to go with him/her, run in the opposite direction, go to a safe place or adult, and yell, “I need Help!”

  4. Move away from a car that pulls up beside you when you don’t know the driver;

  5. If a stranger tells you that there is an emergency, a family member is hurt, or a pet has been in an accident, always check with a parent or an adult you know, and do not go with the stranger;

  6. Sometimes strangers will ask you to take money or to help them find a lost dog to get you to go with them, do not go;

  7. Do not get in to a car or go with a stranger even if s/he has a young child with him;

  8. Take a picture of the license plate or remember the number with a friend who is with you;

  9. Please encourage your child to inform an adult immediately of any suspicious person, and call the Milpitas Police (408-586-2400) or 911 .

Time to order your current school year PRIDE Shirts. This year they have selected a special Del-Sol Shirt. All shirts must be purchased on the web site attached. Don't miss out on having a PRIDE Shirt and support your Team.
